TAX

hey guys,

I just saw this on ISSO website:

Line "74" on page 4 of the IT-203, it mentions Form IT-203-B, Schedule B. Please note, you do NOT need to fill out the ENTIRE IT-203-B, but only the part entitled, “Schedule B, Living quarters maintained in New York.” Simply list the addresses you lived at for 2010.

Maybe we need to fiel IT-203B by just list our address?

Here's the address to file NYS tax:

If enclosing a payment (check or money order), mail
your return to:
STATE PROCESSING CENTER
PO BOX 15555
ALBANY NY 12212-5555

If not enclosing a payment, mail your return to:
STATE PROCESSING CENTER
PO BOX 61000
ALBANY NY 12261-0001

okay...another bad news. I think we are resident of New York State so need to file IT-201 instead of IT-203.

Graduate students and J-1 researchers, answer these questions to determine your New York State Tax status:

Did you rent an apartment (not a dorm room) in New York State for 11 months or more of the year 2010?
Did you spend more than 183 total days in New York state in 2010?
If you answered YES to BOTH of these questions, you are considered a resident for tax purposes in New York State. If you answered no to either one of these questions, you are a nonresident for tax purposes in New York State.

Please prove me wrong!
